On your desktop ( the screen that comes up first after everything loads when you start your computer) there are several "hidden" programs that can help you change the look of websites. To access the most common of these programs right click on any blank area of your desktop. This action will bring up a pop up menu box that says active desktop on top and properties on bottom, click on properties. This menu will allow you to change the look of your desktop, backgrounds, websites and more. Most web sites including this one are programmed to be viewed with a monitor resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. Click on the settings tab and make sure your screen area is set to this. If it is not, then just slide the tab until it changes to this resolution. You might want to play a little with these settings in order to learn more about what they do. Go ahead and try a couple, they can be reset easily. When you view other web sites in the future always try to notice if they tell you the best resolution for viewing. |
Hint!
Ask a more experienced user to explain the active desktop, properties and other programs that appear in the pop up to you. Some of these settings can make a significant change in the way you view your computer's programs. Most of these topics just take a moment to learn and can be explained just as quickly.
