Celebrity Fundraiser

Synopsis:

This hour long activity can be used in all K-12 classrooms as a fundraiser. It is especially useful in business classes and writing classes.

Materials:

Chip's Celebrity Home and E-mail Addresses

Procedure:

Locate several addresses of celebrities using the site listed above.

Have your students write a personal letter to their favorite celebrities describing your cause and requesting an item.

Comments:

This activity works in several different ways.

It's a great fundraiser.
The children will be highly motivated to practice their best handwriting and letter writing skills.
Everyone involved will have a memorable classroom memory that will stay with them for life.
Business classes can extend the activity into an auction or other event and provide the book-keeping necessary to raise and disburse the funds.
